Hi, I'm Carl.

If you're like me, you grew up being told you shouldn't talk about four things: money, sex, politics, and religion.

I want to change that about money. I want to have conversations about money that actually matter. I don't mean conversations about investments, insurance, or budgeting.

I mean conversations about what money really means, our hopes and dreams, our fears and worries, and what it really means to have enough.

Every week on 50 Fires: A Podcast About Money and Meaning, Carl has frank, funny, and often difficult conversations about money—the kind we were all told not to have!—with guests from all walks of life.

In each episode, Carl invites someone new on to answer the question: “What does money mean to you?”, and their answers reveal much more than their attitudes about money, spanning revelations about identity, community, faith, family, and the true meaning of wealth.
