Comparison Is The Thief of Joy with Johnnyswim
Amanda Sudano and Abner Ramirez of the musical duo Johnnyswim open up about the meaning of money in their creative partnership and marriage.
Money disagreements are a part of any relationship, but it's how you work through them to forge a unified financial life, and throughout their career, Abner and Amanda have prioritized creative control and financial independence.
Abner and Amanda released their first music as Johnnyswim in 2008, and married a year later in 2009. Since then, they’ve released a number of successful albums and EPs, toured all over the world (many times with their kids in tow), and they’ve released two shows on Magnolia Network, ‘In the Kitchen with Abner and Amanda’ and a docuseries about their life, simply titled ’The Johnnyswim Show”.
Talking about money is hard, and talking about it with a couple can be even harder, but as you’ll soon hear, it can make all the difference in any relationship.

The solution to comparison is reminding yourself of what really matters. On this week's episode of @50FiresPodcast, the band Johnnyswim discussed this with Carl Richards, and I'm curious to hear what you think. The next time you're tempted to compare what you have (or what you make) with your neighbor, ask yourself that simple question: What really matters to you?
